Apple’s iOS App Store opens ‘Food & Drink’ category featuring nearly 3,000 apps

“After announcing the change to developers 10 days ago, Apple has taken the new ‘Food & Drink’ category of the App Store live,” MacNN reports.

“The new section, accessible from the main page, features some 2,800 apps related to cooking, recipe management, cocktail, wine and spirits guides, restaurant ratings and related matters,” MacNN reports. “Previously, such apps were relegated to either the ‘Lifestyle’ or ‘Travel’ sections, and some food-related apps remain there.”

MacNN reports, “Among the food-related apps not yet found in the new section are food-related games, grocery-list type programs and other ‘shopping’ type apps, and dieting programs.”
