Apple Store Stanford v. 2.0 rendering shows huge rectangular all-glass box with floating white roof

“A rendering for the future Stanford 2 (N. Calif.) replacement store has been unearthed, showing an amazing all-glass box enclosing the front of the retail space, capped by a simple white, visually-floating roof,” Gary Allen reports for ifoAppleStore.

“The design mirrors the architecture proposed in March to city of Portland (Ore.) officials for a new downtown Apple store, and also plans for a store in city center Aix en Provence (France),” Allen reports. “The California rendering was just obtained by Palo Alto Online from permit documents submitted by Apple’s architects, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.”

Allen reports, “The front space consists of tall and wide glass panels creating an enclosed area that sits in front of the existing retail building, and occupying part of what is now a public plaza.”

  1. So there was a pitch for NEW Apple Store in Downtown Portland…..When oh When will Seattle finally get a Downtown Apple Store. All the Apple Stores in the Seattle area are either hard to get to by bus or too far by bus. Living downtown Seattle I really don’t need a car…
