Apple begins international roll-out of iCloud’s iTunes Match service

“Apple seems to be deploying iTunes Match into international music stores this evening, though there seem to be some ongoing glitches that suggests they could be an early mistake or a partial roll out,” Arnold Kim reports for MacRumors.

“Several readers in the UK and Australia have noticed that iTunes Match is now a sign up option in their iTunes Account information page,” Kim reports. “Apple has not yet started promoting iTunes Match in the iTunes Store, but the links to iTunes Match are live with localized pricing.”

Kim reports, “In the UK, iTunes Match costs £21.99 for a year and €24.99 in other parts of Europe. Users are allowed to sign up for it and receive a confirmation email of their purchase but one Twitter report claims it “does nothing” at this stage. For Australian customers, the service is priced at A$ 34.99.”

  1. Wow, what a screw-up!!! To take money from clients without the service been there and then have to refund the money. I am very surprised at the lack of reaction on this site.

If this had been a Microsoft or Google mess I think the Macdailynews take would have been quite cutting, but now we get …silence…

    Good balanced journalism!

  2. Well, I hope the transition to iCloud will work there, because it sure is a F&**&cking mess in the US.

When I log into my me.com account, it tells me I can move my mail, contacts, calendars and bookmarks to iCloud….

Great… when I click on that link, it tells me in the next screens:

“The following MobileMe sync services are not part of iCloud and will no longer be available after moving your MobileMe account to iCloud.”

    Dashboard Widgets
    Dock Items
    Keychain
    ****** Mail Accounts ******
Mail Rules, Signatures, and Smart Mailboxes
    Mac OS X Preferences syncing

WTF? Did they hire Ballmer for this?

Hey Apple, get YOUR $HIT TOGETHER OK?
