“Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer during the company’s annual shareholder’s meeting made the declaration that Windows would never go away,” Electronista reports.
“When asked if the company was in a post-PC era, as Apple’s late Steve Jobs said, he denied it completely, saying that Windows would always be at the forefront,” Electronista reports.
“The expansion of smartphones and tablets was a ‘fantastic thing,’ he said, since it only helped Microsoft,” Electronista reports. “‘We are in the Windows era — we were, we are, and we always will be,’ Ballmer insisted. ‘Through the power of Windows, the PC will be a tablet machine, will be a reading machine, will be a note-taking machine.'”

MacDailyNews Take: Now there’s one seriously delusional bastage.
“There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance.” – Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, April 30, 2007
As always, Ballmer’s completely packed F.O.S.
Hoist! May Steve Ballmer remain Microsoft CEO for as long as it takes!
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Readers “Fred Mertz” and “Dan K.” for the heads up.]

Well Ballmer finally got seething right for a change. They were, they are, and always will be the Windows that copied Apple Apple was copied from, being copied now, and will always be copied by Microsoft to create Windows for the less than informed or dirt cheap or cheap as hell customer base.
Still Microsoft has no taste or adult behavior.
‘We are in the Windows era — we were, we are, and we always will be,’
And this is why they will eventually fail.
“…the PC will be a tablet machine, will be a reading machine, will be a note-taking machine.”
Will be will be will be. Promises, promises. Someday.
Apple’s already there, and has been for some time.
Hey Ballmer…
Are you laughing now?
Biggest clown in the world and the perfect CEO to drive the Edsel that is MS into the ground.
Not feeling any love for Ballmer? Maybe his left nut can make things up for ya. Haha. Just kidding.
Keep up your Ballmer bashing, Jane, we love to see your anger spill out. Peace. 🙂
The “Thousand Year Reich” comes to mind…
Visionary tech guy; Balmer is not!
Chief bully and chair thrower, yes.
Is this Groundhog Day? Are we in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania?
How bout dem Apples Balmey! 😉
We’re in the Windows era only because people still like to look at trees.
I truly love this idiot. Seriously, I actually like him.
“We are in the mainframe era — we were, we are, and we always will be.”
I’m sure some IBM suit said something like that at one point.
How much time do they need, really? You could pretty much sum it up like this:
1) Microsoft is stuck in the 1990’s,
2) They are the world’s largest and best capitalized copy machine, and
3) Because of their “design by committee” model “(what, innovation?”), they will continue to get their asses kicked by Apple.
That pretty much sums it up so a short meeting probably was in order. Now, go home you stockholding whiners!
Ballmer needs a new career…he’s dreaming of the past.
By “we” he means his household.
