“Apple is continuing to press forward with new retail store openings this week, working toward making good on plans to open over 30 new stores during the third quarter of this year,” Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors.
“One unusual store opening will take place tomorrow as the Stratford City store opens up in the new Westfield Stratford City shopping center in the northeastern portion of London. The rare mid-week opening for Apple coincides with the grand opening day for the mall itself,” Slivka reports. “Apple will also be opening its new Jungfernstieg store in Hamburg, Germany this Saturday. The store will be Apple’s seventh German store.”

Slivka reports, “M.I.C Gadget reports that Apple is getting close to an opening for its massive new Nanjing Road store in Shanghai, adding the company’s “curtain opening” promotional signage that frequently appears at flagship store locations as the final touches are put on the new stores.”

The largest Chinese Apple Store already exists, Apple just doesn’t know about it.
Apple should send the Chinese store manager to Germany, the British store manager to China and the German store manager to Britain. That way no one will know when the iPhone 5 will be launched.
Why does anyone even need to know when the iPhone 5 will be launched except for those related directly with the launch? It’ll be launched when it’s ready or Apple is ready. I really doubt that most consumers are just sitting on the edge of their seats counting down the days to launch. It would make them seem that their lives are being governed by some unreleased device they know absolutely nothing about. It would be really unusual for typical consumers to have such a weird obsession over knowing the iPhone 5s release date when so many are still buying iPhone 4s.

Dont want to be pedantic but for we East Londoners its rather important to say that Stratford is EAST LONDON not ‘North east London’. North East London where I now live is a different planet to my former home, consisting mostly of black cab drivers. Anyway I shall be there for the opening tomorrow so will get a first hand experience of this east London shopping experience next to the Olympic Stadium.
As I’ve noted before, the newest Shanghai China store will be their busiest ever. The location is the very best, at the end of a century-old pedestrian-only shopping district. It’s right where the subway stop comes out. You can’t find a better location.
As any fool know – East London starts between Snaresbrook and Leytonstone station on the Central Line, making Stratford definitely in East London. The social divide on the tube is very clear, but I think we’ll all be mixing nicely at the new Apple store tomorrow.
