iPad 2 lines begin forming

“It’s over 4 days before Apple will begin selling the iPad 2 (sales start at 5:00 PM PST this Friday),” Adam Christianson reports for MacCast.

“Apparently hasn’t stopped someone (see picture in full article) form getting in line early, real early,” Christianson reports. “Maccast listener David sent me this snapshot of a tent apparently already outside a temporary Apple Store location in Texas. The Knox Street Apple store is closed for renovations, so they have set-up shop around the corner on McKinney, Avenue. We don’t know for sure yet, but it’s a good guess that guy inside the tent is famous Apple line sitter Justin Wagoner.”

  1. A “listener” sends an e-mail and a picture and he just throws out this plausible guess? Couldn’t he have gone to the store and asked the person in the tent what they’re doing? How hard would that have been?

    1. Well, if you type McKinney Ave & Knox Street, Texas into Google Maps, it will take you straight to Dallas. Apparently, no other major cities in Texas have an intersection of these two…

  2. I hope this is not something that is going to plague all the Apple Stores on Friday and is just simply Justin being strange and a little out there as is his custom. I am hoping to pick up and iPad 2 on Friday, but do not want to stand in line for 5 hours.

I live in Dallas and have friends who work at the Apple Store and I am sure they are again trying to convince him to go home by guaranteeing him that he will be the first in the store at 5 PM on Friday.

  3. Is this guy self-employed? Is he unemployed? Or does he just enjoy blowing all his time off to wait in line for Apple product launches?

If I had to guess, I’d say getting his name all over the news is worth it to him.

  4. Oh for cryin’ out loud. There is absolutely no reason to camp out for an iPad 2 unless you want your name on the internet as “That unemployed loser who somehow spends his money on Apple gear but doesn’t have clean pants.”

Go home and come back on March 11, or March 12, or March 13. Apple will still have an iPad 2 waiting for you.

  5. I’m surprised someone in Texas would want puny little MAC’s toys. They have itsy-bitsy market share and teeny tiny MP3 players. MAC sheep have small brains too.

Texas is for big things, like Microsoft’s PC market share, mammoth selection of software for Windows and Windows-based tablets. Think big again Texas. Go with Microsoft.

  6. “(sales start at 5:00 PM PST this Friday)”

So I have Friday off now… And I have to wait till 5 to order online?
    And a game at 7pm…..

I may think about standing in line somewhere now. Maybe…

  7. He’s a little old to be pulling this crap. Fanboy. Probably lives in his parent’s basement. He needs to get a life. Apple, they make great stuff and have provided me with a unbelievable return on my investment but in the end it’s a company. It’s not your buddy. It’s not your friend. It’s not even the Apple of 20 years ago. It’s a huge,we don’t give a damn about you, money driven company. He’s an idiot. Maybe a couple coyotes will gnaw his leg off one cold Texas night.

  8. I guess you are the “David” in the video… 🙂 And I guess iPhone 4 replaces quite a lot your gear, including those TWO VERY HUGE cameras. Good luck with your plan!
