  1. Yes, thank you (Apple) for Safari 4.1.2 for Tiger. My “mobile Mac” is still an old PowerBook running Tiger. Still being useful… (but it will get replaced with an iPad at some point).

You can update your PowerBook to 10.5 – I’ll bet that you can find an install disk somewhere. As long as the old PB is still running, why not? I’m sure that someone can use it, even after you switch to an iPad.

  3. @KingMel- it’s possible that his Powerbook might be a G3 (probably a Pismo) that cannot be upgraded to 10.5. I have a 500 Mhz Pismo to carry around when my 13″ MB Pro is busy at home with something…

  4. ClickToFlash,
Are you on Safari 5.0.2 that was released yesterday? I have 5.0.1 and no problems here. If you are on 5.0.1, my guess would be that it’s a different plug-in causing your issues.

  5. I am on Safari 5.0.1. When Safari crashes, it says that the Sparkle Plugin is the cause. Click to Flash is the only one I have installed. Crazy. I have had it for a long time without problems, but this week, Safari has crashed, 30 times easy.

  6. @ clickToFlash
Must be something in your system. I, and many I work with are having no problems with it at all. I also haven’t heard of widespread dissatisfaction with ClickToFlash, so you might want to look on your system for some other culprit.
    Just an FYI

Yes it is… except that I upgraded the CPU card to a 550-Mhz G4 many years ago. It can run an “unsupported” Leopard installation, but not too well. Tiger is great on it, and all I need it to do these days is basic web browsing.

  8. I have safari 5.0.2 and it was constantly crashing. The crash report always said sparkle was the cause. Only thing that has sparkle is my clicktoflash which I have uninstalled and seems to have corrected the problem. Clicktoflash said I have all the updates; I’d rather have a safari that doesn’t crash all the time so for the time being I run without the clicktoflash plugin.
