“Apple has approved MoreBluSky’s Flashlight – For iPhone 4 app as well as the many other iPhone 4 flashlight apps in their approval queue,” MacRumors reports.
“Each app, however, must include a disclaimer that continued use of the iPhone’s LED may dramatically decrease battery life,” MacRumors reports.

MacDailyNews Take: Wonder how long iPhone 4’s battery actually would last with the LED flashlight turned on?
Can’t be worse than using the screen as a flashlight.
why not just turn it on under the video camera… Better be free…
Does the strobe drink more juice than a steady on state?
The iPhone 4 battery will last a lot longer with the flashlight turned off.
Really? I wouldn’t have guessed.
Yup, the iPhone battery will also last longer if you turn it off!
Great, now I can find my pants.
Oh, goody! More flashlight apps!
Now that there is a front-facing camera, I wonder how long until a mirror app comes out?
I use a flashlight app when I get home late and need to see the front door lock.
On a related note, is there an app for my iPhone 4 that can open my garage door?
@steve h.
Amen brother. Some one needs to do this. I have a “special” remote for my deadbolts on the house doors also and they work perfect.
Make an app that flashes the LED on/off repeatedly and you have strobe light for your dance party.
I’ve used the screen itself for helping me out on the dark. It is really quite bright. The led light may be more efficient since the emitted surface area is less.
@ken1w
The Flashlight app I have does just that. In multicolors too! They should have name the app “Flashbacks”.
Also they need an app that converts text to led morse code stobes.
Also they need an app to scratch my . . .
this is just ridiculous, we need to get to the bottom of this led battery design fault. Apple can’t make a phone that goes dead when you use the flash, that would make them microsoft. I’m giving back my iphone 4 today because of this terrible oversight on apples part!!!!
How long will battery last if not turned on ??
We need a black light app and some Hendrix posters.

Are you serious…? The LED can flash in different colors?
OK, then it should use whatever music is playing and flash the LED with the music. Sort of like a one-pixel iTunes visualizer.
” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” /> Multi-tasking at its more useful…
The led flashes only white, other apps flashed the screen with different colors
queue
I know it means a line up or standing in line.
How do you pronounce it? I’m thinking of
introducing it in conversation when inebriated
in a bar. It’ll make me look so erudite.
> The led flashes only white…
Yeah, I know.
” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” /> I was just messing around… Other colors would be cool, but useless for the intended purpose of an LED flash.
Cubert – aaah the mirror app.
Now I can smarten myself up for all those girls

daugav369pils – queue, pronounced ‘Q’ oddly enough, or phonetically I guess it’s ‘k-yoo’.
LED use on my iPhone 4 causes no bars and dropped calls, I’m going to sue.
