Customers who visit AT&T’s website today and attempt to pre-order an Apple iPhone 4 are greeted with the message:
Pre-orders for iPhone temporarily suspended

MacDailyNews Take: As opposed to yesterday when iPhone pre-orders were incompetently suspended.
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “David C.” for the heads up.]
My complaint is NOt about the number of iPhones available, but rather the inability of AT&T;to handle the ordering demands. I mean, seriously, if their computer systems cannot handle the demand of a couple million day one adopters, why trust them to handle the day to day use of tens of millions of day to day users?

On the other hand, AT&T;could be displaying a certain amount of cynicism as well. Even with delays, they know you’ll still order an iPhone, not something else.
@DRMSSDB “You’re right – no one should have been ordering the phones. You must work for AT&T;.”
Yes I do! Not in wireless dept, but still.
@NCIceman “What part of the world says “Beeeee” instead of “Waaaah” for a crying sound?”
@Mac Daddy “Yeah, I wants to know too!”

AT&T;has to be using PCs to make this big a f*ck up and all the others.
@jaundiced
“impatient spoiled brats”
Spot on!
AT&T;is not Amazon or Ebay, their system was not designed to handle such traffic.
Apple basically orchestrated one of the largest DoS attacks on AT&T;.
Apple has orchestrated the biggest DoS attack on AT&T;and nobody is blaming them. Maybe they are just looking for a reason to get out of the contract.
I got mine suckersssssssss
Everytime it said error I refreshed the page and tried again took me 30 mins after tryin all day yesterday but I got minessssssssssss
I have commanded that more server be deployed to the Gulf Region to tackle this issue. I am in charge here.
The process apparently worked for 600,000 people. Sure Apple and AT&T need to plan for the demand. But the rest of you can wait for a couple of weeks to get your new toy. After all, you managed to somehow live without it so far.
Come on. That was a lot of pre-orders. As incompetent as AT and T is, I suspect most other companies would have also struggled to handle that volume of ordering.
Actually, almost no one seems to be mentioning the very positive effect on AAPL stock as a result of all this. Here, let me do it: AAPL!
Please remove the current ATandT CEO from his post, he is way Way WAY too incompetent, ty.
