AT&T iPhone pre-orders: ‘Temporarily suspended’

Customers who visit AT&T’s website today and attempt to pre-order an Apple iPhone 4 are greeted with the message:

Pre-orders for iPhone temporarily suspended

MacDailyNews Take: As opposed to yesterday when iPhone pre-orders were incompetently suspended.

  1. My complaint is NOt about the number of iPhones available, but rather the inability of AT&T;to handle the ordering demands. I mean, seriously, if their computer systems cannot handle the demand of a couple million day one adopters, why trust them to handle the day to day use of tens of millions of day to day users?

  3. The process apparently worked for 600,000 people. Sure Apple and AT&T need to plan for the demand. But the rest of you can wait for a couple of weeks to get your new toy. After all, you managed to somehow live without it so far.

  4. Come on. That was a lot of pre-orders. As incompetent as AT and T is, I suspect most other companies would have also struggled to handle that volume of ordering.

Actually, almost no one seems to be mentioning the very positive effect on AAPL stock as a result of all this. Here, let me do it: AAPL!
