Better find my sleeping bag….
That’s a good way to become a “former” Apple Store Manager…
Should that not read “A former Apple Store manager in Southern California” ?
Lining up for Apple products have become lame. I like the online store option. I hope they keep it. Nothing says geek more than lining up to get something that cost a bunch of money.
I can’t believe an Apple manager would be stupid enough to talk to a reporter. Must have been a good bribe.
Dear rat fink manager. We already know your name. We know who you are. We know where you sleep. We know where your Macbook Pro sleeps. We know where your Dell Latitude hibernates.
You think all we can do is fire you? Soon a Geek Squad tech support guy will be coming to your house to install Windows Vista ON YOUR WHOLE FRAKING FAMILY!!!
With Love,
Johnathan Ive
Special Gift = $10,000 iTunes cards + call from Mr. Jobs.

Jonathan Ive is British, he would use different language. He’s couth!
In other news, Apple reports that all store managers in southern Ca. Have been sent to their “re-education “campus” ” in mainland China for an undetermined lenght of time
@Bacmook
Yes…a would be former Apple store manager in Southern California!!
I’d really like to see a setup like Apple had for the iPhone 3GS launch – I reserved my iPhone online with an option to pick my iPhone up at a local Apple Store at my convenience on launch day. I showed up around 11am, got put in a different line than all of the non-reservation people, there was only 3 other people in the reservation line. I was in and out, and was on my way home by 11:30am.
If reserving is an option for the iPad, I will definitely do that!
Do those of us who pre order get a “Special Gift?”
@ bizlaw,
“I can’t believe an Apple manager would be stupid enough to talk to a reporter. Must have been a good bribe.”
Nonsense.
It all depends on how hot the Apple manager thought the reporter was.
Sometimes you think with the apparatus God gave you that resides below your belt.
So, let me get this strait…
It will be available, LIKELY, at the end of March…
What did Steve Jobs say on 25 Jan? Something about the WiFi only model and end of march, yeah?
People who queue up for new product releases, store openings at Apple stores have gotten free shirts and sometimes other goodies for years…
How is this “news.”
Here, let me write an article and you can publish it. I’ll make it easy. I’ll put it here.
Okay, here goes.
Macs, iPhones and other Apple products will be sold at Apple Stores worldwide all through today and tomorrow and likely the next day and the one after that…
Sheesh.
MDN Word: plant – as in only someone with the brains of a plant would call this news.
Do you think that Apple will one day get a few port a johns set up for the lines that start several days in advance? That would be real customer service to the loyal Apple customers that are willing the give Apple the FREE news coverage for 24 to 48 hours. Maybe a free Apple logo poncho in the cold or rainy locations!
Methinks that a relatively low-on-the-todem-pole Apple store manager doesn’t know squat about when product releases are scheduled until the boxes show up the night before.
That said, the last Friday of the month seems like a pretty reasonable launch date. I know I’ll be in line in Omaha.
JustMe, “So, let me get this strait…”
Yes, I’m in dire straits to get this straight.”
This could also be a planned leak.
@Jersey_Trader
won’t need too. By the time the lines get that long, we will have developed recirculatory methods* as a remedy to a lack of food and water on the planet. It won’t be 100% efficient. But lines shouldn’t present a problem.
* similar to the Fremen stillsuits from Dune, but instead of an external suit, it will be 100% biological.

Oh, wait, you didn’t want to get GEORGE Strait?
