Apple’s rumored ‘Brick’ designed to smash Windows?

“Many are claiming that on October 14, 2008, along with new Macbooks and/or Macbook Pros, Apple will be releasing another product coded-named ‘brick,” David W. Martin reports for Mac|Life.

“We think the best guess so far is the one at macenstein.com. Apple’s ‘brick’ target is Microsoft and Windows. After all, what better tool to break Windows than a ‘brick?’ We believe Macenstein may have solved the riddle. 1. “That image of expensive elitist devices for a bunch of highky snob people is still very powerful, at least in Europe.” And in America too, at least for some Mac users. Where’s the built-in memory card reader, up-to-date graphics, optional hardware like HDMI and Blu-ray, decent screens in Apple laptops, etc.? If mainstream Windows-based PCs can offer the latest in computer hardware, why can’t Macs?

  2. A phone call from a software developer in Guadelajara informed me that software developers at 1 Infinite Loop are spreading rumors that not only will the new Macbooks allow Boot Camp, but have integrated emulation code for other software – ie: Windows Smashed. No need for Parallels.

Hence the rejection to incorporate Microsoft Office ’08. Hence the ‘Brick.’

    He can’t confirm the rumors.

    cheers
