RUMOR: Apple to debut ‘Mac Fusion’ developer machine

TUAW has “received a tip showing what appears to be the Mac Nano computer that we’ve all wanted — and it looks to be aimed towards the developer crowd,” Cory Bohon reports for TUAW.

MacDailyNews Note: The text in the image reads, in part: Building your applications for the Mac has never been easier. Mac Fusion was designed exclusively for new developers wishing to port their existing programs to the Mac without breaking the bank. Mac Fusion allows you to explore the power and stability of Max OS X while keeping the ability to run alternate operating systems such as WIndows or Linux, via Boot Camp.

“The pictures appear to show a Mac geared towards developers on Windows and Linux systems. ‘Leave Windows behind. Build your Apps for OS X’ states the title. While we are extremely cautious about rumors like these right before WWDC, we did have a rumor that a ‘new Mac’ or at least an updated Mac might be released,” Bohon reports.

  1. Furthermore, why would I as a developer want this machine? Using myself as an example, I would like to have the ability to expand my machine. This one doesn’t look like it gives me that ability.

Which is more reason why I think this is real. Because I know Apple would never actually build what I call my realistic perfect machine. Yes, I know the Mac Pro is the ultimate and if money were no option, I’d have one, but I live in the real world. And don’t bring up the iMac, I don’t want it. I already have a 24″ display.
