  1. I’m still looking forward to Panasonic FZ-18 RAW support. One day soon, I hope.

But Aperture is simply an amazing product, and has gotten more powerful and easier to use with version 2. It’s nice that Apple is always working to add RAW support for great cameras. That’s appreciated, Apple.

If anyone wants to see my photostream (I’ve been using Aperture since June 2007), it’s here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyriazos/

  2. @ChrisysOne – thank you

@Ron Robertson – the Sigma’s a great camera. Supporting RAW for any camera takes a lot of time and effort to get right, which is why it takes so long to see these updates. Adobe’s got a much larger staff, and typically comes up with RAW decoding faster. I doubt Apple’s just sitting on it.

  3. Yeah, ACR is slooooow on my TiPB. I thought SigmaPhotoPro was slow, but ACR is slower.

And to the tongue-in-cheek insults, the funny thing is that owning a Sigma DSLR is much like owning a Mac. It’s different. It’s quality over quantity.

Anyhow, I think I’m going to add a Sigma DP1 to my SD10, and replace that little Fuji F30 I carry.

  4. When are the Camera companies going to get that we need a RAW standard. 1 RAW file format for all Digital Cameras, I know Adobe tried to do this some time back but it would appear there were no takers.

  5. @ Jeff

Never happen. At very least, Nikon and Canon will keep their own RAW formats, because they will continue to tweak them to take advantage of their professional hardware, so there really isn’t any reason to standardize everyone else. It’s just not in either of their interest to do so. It would be nice, however, if *each* manufacturer would settle on one of their own, but again, they like to keep their product lines distinct.

How are you using ACR – through PS, or through Bridge or Lightroom? I have no problems in LR on my 2.33 ghz dual core iMac, but Bridge is a different story.
