“Early this morning, Apple sent out an e-mail to iTunes Store Season Pass purchasers, offering an apology and download credits to users whose series subscriptions were affected by the recent Writers Guild of America strike,” Jeremy Horwitz reports for iLounge.
Apple’s email:
As you may have heard, the Writers Guild of America, the union representing TV and movie writers, has settled its strike and its members have returned to work. Because of the strike your season pass for [program name ], Season [number] may have fewer episodes than were scheduled by the network at the time of your purchase.
We will make all additional episodes which are broadcast during the 2007-08 season available to you as we receive them. If the season does end up with fewer episodes, you will receive a partial refund to make up for the difference.
For now, I have granted two free video credits to your account which you can use to purchase any two TV episodes, music videos, or short films on the iTunes Store.
Your video credit balance should display in the upper right corner of iTunes next to your account name. If it does not, please sign out and sign back in to refresh. The sign out/sign in functions are found under the Store menu of iTunes. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for being an iTunes customer.

Calling it a strike is pejorative, surely Apple should have called it a dispute. Ah but SJ has shares (lots) in Disney. Oh and not just, “the Writers Guild of America, the union representing TV and movie writers” (highlighting one party in a dispute and ignoring the other is pejorative too), but the Guild and the rip-off bastard Hollywood left-wing Movie Moguls.

This is a bit unusual for Apple email/press release to switch from the ‘editorial we’ to ‘personal I’ in the same document. Unless of course, the first we was really the ‘Royal We’ then again…
I don’t see an issue with the term “Strike” I don’t immediately associate it with anything negative. It’s a worker’s rights dispute and workers walked out of their jobs/contracts. A strike is a specific form of dispute, and fairly descriptive.
This is the first I’ve seen it called a “dispute” everywhere else I’ve seen it mentioned it’s been called a strike.
