fyi, When unreleased products come in, the are completely sealed with a date on them when they can be opened. I can almost guarantee this is a fake.

Not to mention, that iTunes WiFi icon wouldn’t be all blown out at the top in the print materials.
It’s twice as large as my 8GB and comes with wheels.
WOW – This is insane – FedEx just dropped off my iPhone order and it they shipped me a 16GB model in place of the 8gb, with a note that since based on the delay of my order they upgraded me to a 16GB model.

All the icons line up perfectly with the grid – EXCEPT the iTunes Store icon – it’s a pixel or two off, rotated too far counter-clockwise. I also notice a smudge in the JPG artifacts on the bottom left edge.

While it’s not a huge surprise if Apple did release a 16GB iPhone before Thanksgiving, cause that is what I predicted when the price dropped $200. However, as Chrissy noted, you can clearly tell that the iTunes wifi icon is slightly skewed. There’s no reason why it would be askew, other than a bad photoshop job, cause it’s actually easy to have done it right.
In a related story…the latest version of Photoshop fools yet another bunch of Kool Aid drinkers.
It is really worth losing you job. If you work for Apple you signed a confidentiality agreement. True or not this violates that agreement and you can kiss the job for apple goodbye.

When you want to add a photo/graphic onto an existing image, getting the plane/placement is one of the first things you want to have right, otherwise the whole effect is lost.
Look at C1’s grid overlay again. While all the other icons are on the same plane as the grid overlay (which matches the plane of the iPhone’s face, BTW), one icon is markedly “off” of that plane–It’s edges don’t exactly line up to the lines of the grid. Keep that in mind and look at the original picture in the article. The grid won’t get in the way, so you’ll see that it stands out a little more. Also, you might notice that this same icon is at least 10% brighter than any other icon in the photo.
Gotta love the net… How else can you get from “interesting” to “dead horse” inside of just minutes?

What really amazes me is that with all these 10mega pixel digital cameras available now with a capability to produce such high quality photos whenever there is a ‘rumoured new apple product’ revealed on the web the photos are always blurred.
Coincidence? or does everyone who posts rumours cant use a digital camera?

The higher the quality of the photo, the harder it is to doctor it and cover your tracks. That’s why they always look like hell.
I used to work at an Apple Retail Store. They purposely do NOT tell the employees when a new product is introduced until the day it is available. This is to avoid these kinds of rumors and speculation.
Don’t believe it until it happens.

Apple has a self imposed 2 week quiet period before they announce earnings. As they will be announcing earnings on October 22 you will not see any new product announcements this week.

I got mine three weeks ago, and although I could easily fill it up, 8 gigs has turned out to be a good amount. Have you seen that you can stream music from your home computer? I haven’t tried it, and I am looking for the link.
This looks fake, but Apple has in the past released upgrades to existing products without much fanfare (albeit rarely). The thing is that a 16GB iPhone is a certainty at some point, so I wouldn’t be shocked if this was true.
But still, it looks like a fake.
