MacDailyNews reader “Aaron,” While searching for a tutorial on emailing photos from his iPhone to his iWeb page, has uncovered a page on Apple.com that does not do what normal incorrect addresses (URLs) do.
Normally, incorrect URLs – for example: http://www.apple.com/ilife/guidedtour/emac.html – return the error message:
Looking for something? The page you tried was not found. You may have used an outdated link or may have typed the address (URL) incorrectly.
But, the URL http://www.apple.com/ilife/guidedtour/iphone.html returns a curious result: an active (placeholder) page, not the usual error message, with a missing QuickTime movie.
What it means is unknown, but it raises tantalizing questions, chief among them, as “Aaron” asks, “Why would iLife need a guided tour for the iPhone unless there is some integration coming?”
GarageBand.
There’s gotta be some way to “play” an iPhone, through air-jamming or something…
The page works fine when viewed on my iPod touch… movie and all. MDN should do a little more research.
There are three icon spaces left on the iPhone to fill (if scrolling will not be available). Now that the iPhone supports video out, I can see Keynote or iWork mobile being an option. Possibly iChat mobile as well. Also, I do not believe Apple is done with the camera app yet. Digital zoom and mp4 capture?
And last but not least, the big one. GAMES for iPhone purchased direct from iTunes!
Recall all of the criticism surrounding iMovie 08? Editing by just scrubbing across clips, etc. Well, I’d lay odds that you’ll be able to edit video shot with the on-board camera, soon to be video capable. Just a guess, but it almost certainly why all of iLife 08 is standardizing on the new scrub through interface.
I’m going to fuck Aaron up when I see him.
way too much Apple time on his hands (sound familiar?)
mmmmmmmm……. married daughters
iTunes was originally included on the iLife disk.
Remember that Flickr app that got removed with 1.1.1? Use your imagination, you’ll know what I mean…
interesting… very interesting…
