@Tommy Boy: There’s no need to be rude, dear. Although I’ve posted as “TommyBoy” for some time, that was my last. I’m happy to change for you, so just erase that worried look from your handsome face and enjoy the beautiful day. You never know how many are left. Peace.
Just noticed my ringtone has been changed. I did the m4r trick but did not update to 7.4.1 – so I was able to keep my ringtone of choice.
Well it now looks like Apple has done an update on their own, without user option to accept.
Apple, you are pathetic! This was a ringtone I created my self. It was not from a song.

1) Even if it IS the labels, and not the artists, who are getting the $.99 for the ringtone, it’s still their money. Some random guy can’t just say they don’t deserve it.
2) I know what you mean, but I wouldn’t say I’m “standing up for double-paying for tracks.” Personally, I too think it’s silly that making a ringtone, especially out of a track you already own, costs $.99. As a result, I’m not buying any, the same way I probably wouldn’t buy any TV shows from iTunes if they had ads. I’m just standing up for sticking to what you say in the EULA, if you did choose to agree it the first place.
3) Two things I said earlier: first, even it IS technically legal to break the EULA for some reason, I think most people agree that going back on one’s word is wrong–the idea that you’re just doing it support fair use laws seems like a relatively far-fetched excuse to get a free ringtone to me–and second, I’m not a lawyer, but I’m pretty sure if you sign a contract saying something like “I will not tell [insert secret here]”, you can’t tell it, even though it sort-of violates your free speech.
I mean, if you signed the contract, why do they care?
