“While Apple holds an exclusive relationship with AT&T for the iPhone in the US, it may have chosen multiple carriers for the European market,” Evans reports. “Apple has been previously understood to be in talks with Vodafone, T-Mobile, and Orange for making the device available” in the UK.

  1. I live in the UK, and Computer Warehouse is such a small company, that I haven’t even heard of it.

There is no way it will be one of the first iPhone dealers! There is another shop called Carphone Warehouse which will probably be an iPhone reseller.

  2. WizeGuy is a wise guy. Computer Warehouse isn’t a mobile phone reseller of any size and is mainly a computer (PC and Mac) mail order outfit. Carphone Warehouse is Europe’s (the world’s?) largest mobile phone retailer – in stores and on line – so is the natural to sell the iPhone alongside the rumoured UK-carrier, O2.

  3. Follow the links to Computer Warehouse and the page in question says:

Is this much different to saying, “Come and see the bearded lady and the man with two heads in the tent over here.”?

There’s not a claim that they even might be selling the device in the future on that page.

Maybe it amounts to nothing more than that they’ve got hold of a unit and see an invitation to come and see it as a novel way to get people into the store.

  4. Under advertising law, they are within their rights to entice you to enter their premises in the hope that you will buy something once you are inside.

They do not have to sell you the product on display.

Even if they do indeed have an iphone, they could claim that it is there to entice you to walk into their premises.

If you are gullible enough, you will make the long trip hoping to see one in the bare flesh so to speak & handle it, my advice to you is DO NOT!

You have just gotten free advice from someone who specialises in that field!!!
