Oh, and I don’t know what you guys are complaining about, Parallels runs fine on both my TI99/4a and Atari 2600 (with extended basic cartridge…or was that on the TI99/4a?)
Smoke-screen? Is Apple really holding back “secret” features? If these magical “top secret” features aren’t in the latest builds, how are developers supposed to prepare for them?
Nah….the Atari 2600 requires the Starpath Supercharger in order to load Parallels.
Not buying one until there’s a version that loads on my soon-to-be new CFFA card for my IIgs.

I can’t help w/Parallels but if you want I can send a cassette with Final Cut Studio optimized for the TRS80.
Just think, in a parallel universe, Apple is a monopolistic beast and someone is making software to virtually run windows on -OSX.

Paper tape and punch cards, both.
Had to enter a boot loader from the front panel before the paper tape reader could read the tape on the HP 3100.

To load it onto a TRS80, yoou MUST make sure that its dilithium crystals are fully charged. If not, the transistor tachyons are not emitted properly.
The same thing happened when ET couldn’t phone home.

The download doesn’t work. Has anyone been able to download the new version successfully. I try downloading, and it downloads about 9MB and says it’s done. I know this isn’t a support forum, but I figured I would see if everyone else is having the same problems.
Thank you Bob, that’s changed…I must have caught them mid site update. My comment about daily press releases was because Macworld reported this yesterday. I didn’t find 3186 yesterday either… Anyway, I did find it now!
The website isn’t consistent. Some links bring you to RC2, others to RC3, and the one that brings you to build 3186 Doesn’t seem to be working right now. After attempting to download Build 3186 the download viewer says “mounting failed” after downloading only 1 of 58 Mb.
Suggestions?

It seems to be working now, but can’t you all wait your turn? Current download speed is 6.9 KB/sec. The Parallels people can only offer so much bandwidth. Why don’t you all wait until I am done downloading, then I’ll let you know when it’s your turn.

Hey, you guys quit fussing on my TI 99-4a. I still have one that runs and it was a neat machine. It got pretty hot in spots and you had to buy a basic module for it (which it did, by the way.).

Parallels is absolutely horrible — it is IMPOSSIBLE to print from Parallels to a USB-connected inkjet printer. This has been confirmed by over 100 people on the Parallels forums, and Parallels has done nothing to fix this problem. Parallels is the absolute worst! BUY AT YOUR OWN CAUTION!
I can’t get Parallels to work with my SCSI chain. I’ve checked IDs and termination. I may have to restart with fewer extensions loaded.

what version did u test ? they have been improving USB support with every release.
some of the stuff they are doing is really incredible (coherence for example)

Parallels works fine printing to my USB inkjet printer (HP2210). Follow the instructions about installing bonjour printer sharing in Windows, pick a generic postscript driver and you are done.
