Parallels has released the free Official Update of Parallels Desktop for Mac with a new installation assistant tool, shared networking support, and compatibility for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard developer build and Windows Vista.
More info and download link here.
Leopard and Windows Vista are running great on my Commodore 64….
I realize how popular Parallels & Boot Camp are for
those who actually need to run that other POS – OS, but just the thought of putting WinDoze on my
Mac, gives me the willies !
Reminds me of the time our local ChompUSA was having a “to-do”, featuring the “brand new” Beige G3s .. they held a drawing, and as luck would have it, I won a copy of Connectix’s Virtual PC.
The other customers in the store thought I was nuts when I promptly traded it in for an AppleT-Shirt !
MW = Brown — now WHY does that remind me of Zune Tang ?
Hey, you guys quit fussing on my TI 99-4a. I still have one that runs and it was a neat machine. It got pretty hot in spots and you had to buy a basic module for it (which it did, by the way.).
A games machine, extrodinare!!

N.
Maybe now the “check for updates” command under the help menu in Parallels will actually work.
Hey… I
I’m up to 14.4 kb a second! wow… those were the days.
Parallels is absolutely horrible — it is IMPOSSIBLE to print from Parallels to a USB-connected inkjet printer. This has been confirmed by over 100 people on the Parallels forums, and Parallels has done nothing to fix this problem. Parallels is the absolute worst! BUY AT YOUR OWN CAUTION!
I can’t get Parallels to work with my SCSI chain. I’ve checked IDs and termination. I may have to restart with fewer extensions loaded.
@macbill
bah, don’t judge parallels (BETA !) on just one feature.
what version did u test ? they have been improving USB support with every release.
some of the stuff they are doing is really incredible (coherence for example)
Now the whole website is unavailable. Argh.
I’ve given up. Go to Bittorrent.
This is interesting, do these PPC mac users really expect paralells desktop to work on native macs?
@Macbill
Parallels works fine printing to my USB inkjet printer (HP2210). Follow the instructions about installing bonjour printer sharing in Windows, pick a generic postscript driver and you are done.
Too easy.
