Current HomePods running the software do not yet offer the upgraded assistant, which suggests the feature may be limited to upcoming hardware rather than rolling out to existing speakers. Rumors point to a refreshed HomePod mini as the most likely first recipient. The main upgrade is expected to be a faster processor—possibly an S9 chip or even the S11 used in the Apple Watch Series 12. Like recent Apple Watches, the new mini would likely deliver some Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features when paired with a compatible iPhone.
The HomePod mini is not expected to change much in design. Additional upgrades could include Apple’s N1 networking chip, a newer Ultra Wideband chip, and fresh color options.Siri AI support is also rumored for a forthcoming Apple TV 4K with a more capable processor, and Apple is said to be developing a dedicated home hub with Siri AI built in. Several of these products, including the updated HomePod mini, could arrive as soon as October. An updated full-size HomePod is also in development, though its launch timing remains unclear.
