  1. About……Friggin……time.

I am so sick of Garmin and Magellan, the two biggest GPS makers telling Mac users to screw off and use Windows. Now how long will it take Magellan to jump in?

And will they support some of the existing models, not just new ones?

I have a SportTrak Map model and just hate launching Windows to upload maps to it.

  2. I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 670 (ready for Italy) and I contacted cusotmer support for info on future Mac POI (ponits of interst) downloads. they replied that they their Mac group is working on additional Mac features soon to be released. The Nuvi 660/670 are absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait for future Mac enhancements.

  3. This is not Apple-specific, but if you’re interested in the intersection of GPS and outdoor sports, you might want to check out the live coverage of the Tour of California on all this week. Individual riders have GPS transmitters tied to Google Earth — a project of CSC. Today they’re in time-trials so the GPS services don’t seem to be on, but it’s an amazing site with live video etc….

  4. Garmin is the most Mac friendly. I just bought the Nuvi 670 (for a trip to Italy next year) and it is fantastic. It has a 4.5″ screen and can be used as a handheld. Go to garmin.com and click on the Apple link. They will be releasing additional Mac software dowloads later this year. The Nivi 670 connects to my iMac G5 vis USB where I can upload mp3’s to play over my FM radio.

  5. I think it’s delightful, because it advertise a very academic-focussed attitude. Preserving the incorruptibility of the academic system seems to be a lead, although ingenuously banning compensated ads for such a service seems a flimsy response. When the establishment is known by your friends who were captivated with the results of the participation, about this address that for the thesis writing service quality.
