RUMOR: Apple may add iPod to lineup on Tuesday

“Apple Computer is expected tack a new model onto its industry leading line of iPod digital music players as early as Tuesday, AppleInsider has learned,” Katie Marsal and Kasper Jade report for AppleInsider.

“Details are admittedly scarce, but people familiar with the matter say the new model will likely represent a slight variation of the Cupertino-based firm’s existing offerings rather than a breakthrough new product,” Marsal and Jade report.

Marsal and Jade report, “Specifically, those people say the announcement will add a new color (or edition) of an existing iPod. Neither the particular color or iPod model were readily available.”

  1. Apple may be announcing new products on a regular basis to counter Microsoft’s release of Vista. Every time a Microsoft employee is interviewed, the host can ask. “…and what is your take on Apple’s new (insert name ofbuilding innovative product here)”

  2. Steve is just brilliant. Who would have thought of the idea of producing an existing product in multiple colors. Apple Rules. It’s thinking like this that will soon get Apple mac market share up from 2% worldwide to 95% totally eclipsing Windows and wiping out Microsoft.

    What’s next, a wide screen iPod with wireless capabilities called the ZunePod?
