“For years, Windows PC owners have been able to connect to an iPod. Now they can have a computer that looks like the iconic digital music player. Logisys Computer this week added the ePod Soho case to its lineup of unusual PC shells. The white PC case has several ‘buttons’ resembling those found on the scroll wheel of an Apple Computer iPod, as well as a blue LED light that gives the case a constant backlit glow,” Ina Fried reports for CNET News.
“The ePod is a shell into which individuals or custom PC makers would need to add a processor, motherboard, hard drive and other components,” Fried reports. “The ePod is currently shown on Logisys’s Web site, but it is not yet available through any retailers. A Logisys representative said the company has not had any communications with Apple.”

imitation is the ultimate form of flattery

Ever seen an ipod???????
Am I the only one here who believes that this is an absolute work of art?
Next on the Logisys creative list.
The ePot or e-Toilet. It will be white with a scroll wheel lid. A blue light for the swirling waterfall. And 5 times the necessary size.
But just think how good it’ll look running Vista!
At least it can be shoved under a desk, out of sight, where all p.o.s. PCs belong.

It looks like one of those Creative Zen excuse-for-an-iPod-knockoff dealies to me…. Not like an iPod at all.

Think of the possibilities-at least the videos would look great if a 17* screen was installed on the side.
Since Podner has has to change it’s name, I think that the makers of this “ePod” are going to get a call from Apple’s lawyers very soon. Oh, BTW, to those who made this abomination, Apple already made a computer that looks like an iPod, it’s called an iMac.
Chill people, I’ve seen a hell of a lot worse.
Yes I am a Mac user.
I allready own a computer that is iPod inspired-it’s called an iMac.
That monstrosity pictured above will haunt my dreams, waking me in a pool of cold sweat as cry out,”Dear God, what is that thing!”
MDN Magic word: Away-as in keep that thing away from me!
What manner of egregiousness is this? Is Apple the only company capable of designing anything cool? Come on, where is the competition? This is downright laughable.
“Reality TV breaks new ground,
Country music is innovative,
Large portions are the sign of a good meal,
Leno is funnier than Letterman.”
Well…3 out 4 ain’t bad.
Letterman hasn’t been remotely funny since his morning talk show.
“Beef Q-tips”
My first reaction was: “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Then I thought about it as a PC user and thought, “That’s one of the nicest cases I’ve ever seen.”

PC wet dream
iYiYi!!!!
Oh, great. I just vomited in my mouth a little.
I have to use a windows machine at work in addition to my G5. I’d sure rather have a case like this than an even uglier Dell box. THATS WHY THEY MADE THIS PEOPLE. IT HAS IT’S PLACE!
the E in ePod must stand for egnert.
“Letterman hasn’t been remotely funny since his morning talk show.”
Even if that were true, he’d still be funnier than Jay Leno. I think Leno forgot how to tell a joke in about 1975.
did anyone notice that “The ePod is a shell into which individuals or custom PC makers would need to add a processor, motherboard, hard drive and other components”. In short Logisys offers poor PC users nothing more than a way to pimp their ride to look more like an Apple. An iPod no less. The bottom of the Apple food chain. Not even the consumer grade model. Is that self loathing or what?
But you gotta give ’em props for making a computer that actually looks exactly like the iPod.
I mean what the fsck.
