QuickTime 7.0.3 delivers several important bug fixes, primarily in the areas of streaming and H.264 video. QuickTime 7 Pro users also gain the ability to create video and audio files that can be played back on compatible iPods. This update is highly recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.
QuickTime 7.0.3 is available via Software Update.
tried updating … software update unexpectedly quit … running iMac G5 … quicktime 7.02
No problems here. It worked just fine for me. I did, however, download the disc image from Apple.
After installation, I downloaded a Pixar short from iTunes 6. Sweet. Seems a little short on the resolution though.
According to Apple, this update is “highly recommended.”
Here’s the obvious question: Has there ever been an update that Apple doesn’t recommend?
“Here’s Safari 2.0.2. No big deal if you don’t want to update, though.”
I’m used to ElGato’s QVGA resolution of its USB PVR, but I’m still dissappointed that Apple is selling QVGA videos. I was expecting 720p, or something. Then again, I had been reading Cringely’s predictions about Steve’s HD iTMS. Oh well, I downloaded my one token Pixar video.
Isn’t it weird how Apple first announced the new iPod supporting 260,000 colors and then changed the iPod page and now the specs show “only” 65,000 colors ?
So what’s the REAL number ?
I think that was 260,000 pixels
mmmm Video iPod. Now I can go blind as well as deaf.
Well I’m still going to keep “doing it” until I need glasses… and hearing aids
