Did Steve Jobs already drop subtle hint about upcoming Apple product announcement?

“Apple fans are looking forward to next Wednesday like it’s Christmas Eve. But maybe Steve Jobs gave them a subtle hint about those upcoming products in an interview in February 2004,” Management-Channel reports. “Apple is going to announce an AirPort Express with video streaming capabilities!”

  1. Although I do think Airport AV will be announced next week, I would not jump to any conclusion based on what Steve Jobs has said in the past. He has also told us that there will be no flash memory iPod or el cheapo Mac and he also told us about the so-called MHz Myth.

  2. First up taking stuff from an interview over a year and a half ago is *seriously* reaching to the point of insanity.

Secondly it would not be inconcievable for Apple to put out 802.11n wireless networking products before the standard is finalised. Early Airport Extreme hardware came out before the 802.11g standard was finished.

  3. Its ridiculous. It means nothing to me to stream from my computer
DVD to my T V. I already have a DVD hooked up to my T V. I might
want to stream a high definition feed from my computer to the T V
though….Is the age of renting DVD’s all but over?
I think Jobs should face it–people want a Video IPOD–But one
more thing–Apple needs a true High Definition display and/or plasma
    T V.

  4. The wider bigger frame on the adaptor that ships with the nano might be a clue: why ship an adaptor that doesn’t fit the current 4G/3G dock or third party speakers unless apple anticipates accommodating a wider/bigger framed viPod – if we only get smaller framed, nonvideo ipods tomorrow I’ll bet they ship with similar adaptors as a prelude to vipods and compatibility with all the new speakers, docks..
