“Apple Computer will report second-quarter earnings on Wednesday after the close. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call expect the company to report earnings of 24 cents per share on revenue of $3.17 billion. Apple is thought to be close to launching a new version of its Mac OS X operating system before the end of the month, possibly as early as next week. Last week, Piper Jaffray maintained an ‘outperform’ rating for Apple and said that a recent check with online retailers ‘shows that Apple continues to hold a significant computer market presence.’ It said, ‘Apple’s OS X 10.4 (Tiger) operating system software, which has not been released yet, was the number one seller in the Software Top Seller category [at Amazon.com]. Though it is hard to determine how the rank translates to revenue, it is safe to say that the success of the Tiger preorder was a surprise to us, given that it is outselling the seasonally strong TurboTax software,'” Peter Kang reports for Forbes.

I use the best antiV software there is, Mac OS X. and from what i see at work, the news is getting out. Tiger will make my new iMac complete, and me a happy Macdude.

The only area it has failed to find significant success in until recently is in the commercial sector, and that due to a whole host of reasons. Find something sensible to say next time.

The Dashboard platform is going to be cool, mostly because as it’s an OS standard platform, soooo many people are going to be writing little apps for it!

Same thing with all the new upgrades of all Software. I got the new version of Photoshop and realized I was doing the same stuff I was doing 2 Photoshop versions earlier- all the new stuff they added was plastic chrome I did not need or use.
