Anti-iPod stickers spring up in New York City

Has the iPod backlash begun? Consider this email from a Curbed reader in Tribeca:

What’s up with all those “iPods Lick Balls” stickers (Black Square with White Arial Font) that I’m seeing in Tribeca? I ripped one down and the next week there was another one up. Is this marketing genius from Sony or Rio?

Curbed has posted a photo of one of the stickers plastered on a light pole here.

  1. It’s not an Apple feature, it’s a new Griffin add-on, the iLick. It will come in two versions, a white one and a black one (for the U2 iPod) but the artificial tongues will be pink on both.

  2. you know, this could just be something to get people to look for the word “ipod” on the internet, I mean, if you saw stickers everywhere that said “Nowers suck! Don’t buy any! They just want you to think that they are cool!”, you would do a google search for nowers (a made up word, i think) as soon as you got home.

  3. Looks like Bill Gates, Ballmer, Thurrott et al have been busy at the weekends printing off these stickers on their A4 inkjet printers!

Ive always wondered what the CEO of Microsoft does at weekends – now we know!

He gets his ipod to lick his balls!

(amazing it can find them really – because everyone knows he aint got any!)

    LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

  4. Actually, the next generation iPods will lick balls. Priced at $499, the special ball licking iPods will not only be a fashion statement, but will also help thousands off lonely single guys around the world!

  5. “I think I liked the hooded figure with the arms and wires standing on a box better.”

hmmm. then why are you not in iraq fighting for Haliburton profits and killing babies?

    coward.

I think I saw the prototype to this on So Graham Norton. He gave a battery operated one to Joan Collins.

You guys are so rude. No wonder I like it here.
