HP-branded Apple iPod due in September

“In a speech in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, HP chief executive officer Carly Fiorina outlined HP’s plan for… an HP-branded iPod… the company is expected to introduce an HP-branded version of Apple’s iPod in September. The device will be based on Apple’s fourth-generation iPod, which debuted in July,” Declan McCullagh reports for CNET.

    If cnet had read Apple ‘s press release for the 4G iPod, they would have come across:

    “HP has chosen iPod and iTunes as the best products to integrate in to our digital entertainment strategy,� said Carly Fiorina, chairman and chief executive officer at HP. �We decided to wait for this amazing new fourth generation iPod, as it will offer our customers an even better experience. HP�s version of the new iPod will be available in September.�

  2. When HP delivers thier version of Apple’s iPod…we’ll all breathe a ::sigh:: of relief.

    This is a BIG first, from my recollection…an IBM
    compatible/PC computer manufacturer reselling an Apple product. I think everyone in the computing community will get chills from this one…when it happens.
