Apple’s next-gen ‘iPhone 5S’ revealed in new photos

MacRumors has received several images that appear to show both the interior and rear shell of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5S,” Eric Slivka reports for MacRumors.

“The device appears to carry the same redesigned logic board that appeared earlier this week, suggesting that this is indeed a new iPhone,” Slivka reports. “The battery carries a more recent Apple Part Number of 616-0652 compared to the iPhone 5 battery, which has carried several different part numbers including 616-0611 and 616-0613. The new battery also has a higher capacity of 5.92 Whr, compared to the 5.45 Whr capacity of the iPhone 5’s battery.”

Slivka reports, “The rear shell photo shows a vertical pill-shaped window for the LED flash as opposed to a round window, supporting rumors of a dual LED flash for the iPhone 5S. A similar pill-shaped flash window was depicted on a case maker’s design drawings that also leaked earlier this week.”

    1. Oh, yes, it is “real”. No doubt. Undeniably a photo of something. Conspicuously physical with all sorts of doodads and thingamajigs. Wondrous, captivating, and a little mysterious. Excuse me, I feel a bit giddy.

  1. not going to upgrade based on same screen size, my 4s fine.
with Apple price, why still pay high price for 4″ IPhone 5s.
no wonder AAPL keeps dropping every time 5s rumors comes out.

    1. Don’t confuse abundance with choice.

You want the best PHONE you get an iPhone. You want some kind of frankensteinian freaky phone/tablet go get a samdung.

As SJ used to say…..”if you like it, buy it, if you don’t, don’t”.

  2. Not for anything, but that just looks like shaky/blurry pic of the back of an iPhone 5, and an old one at that. There are scratches and dings around the edges of the back, and the interior is full of dust.

    Just sayin’

  3. Recently upgraded from a 3GS to an iPhone 5, so I can understand why someone with a 4/4S would want to wait.

What I want is a new iPad Mini with Retina display. Too bad it looks like it will be a while before we get one.

  4. The only way Apple would regain interest from the cell phone addicts is if Apple threw a curveball, with instantly noticeable external design revisions on the next iPhone _or_ the addition of other different priced & sized model(s) to the iPhone family.

I, for one, preferred the rounded-back form factor of the iPhone 3GS.
