Apple has posted downloads for iPhone 1.1.2 Update and iPod touch 1.1.2 Update. These files are not yet active via iTunes update. You may wish to wait for Apple to make the Updates releases available via iTunes. For those who simply cannot wait, here are direct download links:

• Reported performance increases (iPhone gets even snappier!)
• iToner ringtone maker still works (Thanks to MacDailyNews reader “Jeff” for the heads up.)

• TUAW reports that iPod touch 1.1.2 Update has already been jailbroken
On your PC its the shift key that you hold down.
So, let me get this straight, a bunch of folks are mooching round all blogs with a link to the update and beefing on about it, yet don’t have the tech powers to jailbreak their pods.
If you can’t point itunes to a zip, you reeally, really won’t mange to get hacky with your pods.
Lameos.
The Preparing iPod for Update comes up, and stays there then it says iPod can not be updated and it disconnects my iPod, any ideas why?
as of 11-12-07 at 5 PM v.1.1.2 is now available from iTunes, and I am in the middle of the download.
