  1. Does the option update trick work with iPhone Firmware on iPod touch? ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”raspberry” style=”border:0;” />

Would provide us with widgets, mail and maps!

  2. @ David, u dont need to restore all that stuff….all u have to do is look at my previous post. its much easier that way. sometimes its easy to confuse and restore ur phone without updating it….i think ” width=”19″ height=”19″ alt=”smile” style=”border:0;” />

  3. People are confused about the manual update because their computers are automatically unzipping the file.

Go to your Trash. Drag the original .zip file to your desktop. Go to iTunes. Option click the Check for Updates button. Navigate to the .zip file on your Desktop. Boom!

  4. I don’t get it. How do you set up your computer to not automtically unzip (or decompress) files when you get them off the net?
I downloaded the .zip but it opens by itself, and I can’t install the update on my iPhone.

Thank you for letting me know.

  5. Nice… I just installed the update and it’s brilliant.
For all the people out there using accents when typing in another language.
Here is how you do it:
click on “e” on the touch keyboard and stay pressed on it. A couple of “e” with accents will pop up: “é,” “è,” etc.

  6. Hey there! I just noticed that the new update had an Asian Font setting in the preferences.
What is that!? I set it to Japanese, but I can’t type anything in Japanese on my iPhone! That would be great to be able to do that, because I actually do speak and write Japanese
    thanks

  7. The adding accents works with version 1.1.1 as well, don’t know if it worked with previous versions as I accidentally stumbled on this just about 10 days ago.

I use accents all the time as my primary language is Spanish, but I had been doing without them until I realized this feature was around.

It is the attention to little details like these that makes me feel good about choosing Apple products.
