Designer Antonio De Rosa has revealed that he received a call and an email from an Apple attorney requesting modifications to some of his product concepts due to their high level of realism, in particular, it seems, his concept for “iPhone Air.”

“I received a call from an Apple attorney asking me to adjust some of my concepts because they were considered too realistic,” Antonio De Rosa via X.

The designer, known for his work on potential Apple products, took to social media to share the news, sparking discussion about the intersection of design, intellectual property, and consumer expectation.

MacDailyNews Take: Hmm… Hello, again, Streisand effect!

    1. I had tended to agree with this view but having checked out the Motorola design I am deeply impressed with what I saw, vVery Apple indeed and really quite thin and a very impressive hinge. The Samsung example a table away however still look thick, clunky and unsophisticated by comparison not convincing at all. Two very different impressions. My only remaining concern is screen wear due to endless folding tbh.

  1. This is what I’ve been wanting for a long time. I want to be able to slip it in a shirt pocket or front pants pocket like I use to be able to do. The ones who whine about the bendable screen are the same ones who stick those big ass phones in their back pocket and sit on them.
There are always the naysayers who rag on these ideas but are all for the goofy overpriced goggles or the upcoming robot arm iPad. A foldable iPhone will sell no matter what the armchair experts claim.

  2. My take is that the actual product that Apple is working on is visually disappointing compared to the realistic renders and the legal action is to nip it in the bud early enough that people forget them before ‘real’ product images are released.
