Apple is currently working on a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook, Wuhan-based TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says via X.
Recently, I’ve received many inquiries about whether Apple plans to mass-produce the foldable iPhone or iPad in 2025 or 2026. My latest survey indicates that currently, Apple’s only foldable product with a clear development schedule is the 20.3-inch MacBook, expected to enter mass production in 2027.
MacDailyNews Note: Last July, The Elec reported that Apple was working on a 20-inch foldable IT product project with Samsung Display, LG Display, and others. The potential suppliers’ challenge at the time was reportedly that the internal screen wrinkles of foldable products needed to be improved to satisfy Apple.

Hopefully Cook doesn’t plan this thing to unfold/fold itself? Billions more at risk.
Okay, so a foldable OLED from LG, got it…. 20.3” making for a rather “long/tall” display, sure it folds but it extends down as the keyboard.
OLED display = An even thinner display by up to 50% thinner than today’s MacBook displays
Extending down as the keyboard = Eliminating the keyboard. This allows the base of the MacBooks to cut thickness by 15% – 20%
Think of an iPad keyboard that is transparent, and very low profile with haptic feedback in edition. This lays over the keyboard portion of the OLED.
If the display keyboard portion is done right and does not slow down typing, yet I can colorize the keyboard, the characters can all change, etc… could be the next generation of laptop design.
“The next generation” of ridiculous products that go the way of the Cube and Round Mouse…
So Apple will catch up to Lenovo’s 2023 ThinkPad X1 Fold in 2027? Can’t wait.
