    1. I assume you find this amazing, too:

“With sales of over 200 million records worldwide, Carey is one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has amassed an extensive catalog, with nineteen of her songs topping the Billboard Hot 100; Carey holds the record for the most number-one singles by a solo artist, a female songwriter, and a female producer, According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the second-highest-certified female artist in the United States, with 66.5 million certified album units. In 2012, she was ranked second on VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music. In 2019, Billboard named her the all-time top female artist in the United States, based on both album and song chart performances. Aside from her commercial accomplishments, Carey has won five Grammy Awards, nineteen World Music Awards, ten American Music Awards, and fifteen Billboard Music Awards. An inductee of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, she is noted for inspiring other artists in pop and contemporary R&B music.”

Not all people share your taste, but Apple can make money selling TV+ to them, just like you.

      1. By this logic Tim should do a Madonna Holiday special too…

With sales of over 300 million records worldwide, Madonna is certified as the best-selling female music artist of all time by Guinness World Records. She is the most successful solo artist in the history of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and holds the record for the most number-one singles by a female artist in Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. With a revenue of U.S. $1.4 billion from her concert tickets, she remains the highest-grossing solo touring artist of all time. Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, her first year of eligibility. She was ranked as the greatest woman in music by VH1 in 2012, and as the greatest music video artist of all time by Billboard in 2020. Rolling Stone also listed Madonna among the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.

        1. So why not? What do you think is going to sell more Apple hardware, a Christmas special from a wlldly popular pop star like Madonna or Mariah, or reruns of Andy Williams holiday specials?

          1. Madonna has about the same name recognition and influence on ‘back to school’ age groups that Andy Williams would- so Andy Williams would be a better deal as it would be cheaper for a CGI special over a Madonna special withthe same sales bump.

  1. I’m one of those who won’t be watching this. But that doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. It may even be a great one. If she’s that popular, good for Apple! Not everything has to be my taste for it to add to Apple TV+’s value.
