“Apple announced its new generation of iPhones on Wednesday during an event in San Francisco. The iphone 7 and 7 Plus—available in five colors: gold, rose gold, silver, black and jet black—will launch on Sept. 16 with preorders beginning on Sept. 9,” Susmita Baral reports for International Business Times. “Various models of the new Apple smartphones in jet black reportedly sold out within minutes, according to users on Reddit, leaving their availability up in the air.”
“Neither the jet black iPhone 7 (4.7-inch display) nor the jet black iPhone 7 Plus (5.5-inch display) are available for purchase in the original shipping date—Sept. 16,” Baral reports. “While certain models (128 GB and 256 GB, to be exact) of the iPhone 7 is available in ‘3-4 weeks’ at the time of publication, the iPhone 7 Plus is only available in jet black later this year in November. Users who want to get their hands on the device sooner may have better luck standing in line at an Apple store on launch day.”
“The source of the delay for the jet black iPhone 7s is unclear but not unheard of when it comes to Apple launching new devices,” Baral reports. “In this particular case, it could be Apple underestimated the demand or the novelty of the glossy black smartphone could have consumers buying the new color.”

… Being tired of ‘Disney Lines’ as I call them, I’m waiting out the crowd until I can calmly stroll into the local Apple (Store) for a peaceful procurement and departure. What I’ve got will do until then.
I got the space gray black front 128 GB, delivery 9/16.
Silver Plus 256….went for the 128 but it was gone as I fumbled for the device I’d numbers…
Space Gray, 7 x 128, Verizon, due for in-store (Denver area) pickup on September 16th, signed up and ordered through the Apple Upgrade Program.
Not interested in the “oops, it slipped out of my hand” black, which won’t show through my case anyway. Did, though, rather enjoy J. Ive’s two and a half minute soft porn film on how pretty the new black is, rendering the phrase, “Look, shiny object!” more relevant than ever.
Tim Cook was supposedly the king of supply chain management, since he’s bee CEO, Apple has yet to launch a refresh or new product without finished product supply issues…. He’s been really ignorant to predicted demand. Does this not bother anybody?
All these years of experience and yet they still don’t have proper supply for their products at launch. Wow. If the lack of design vision doesn’t kill them then the lack of actual product will. The bloom is off the rose.

Yep. Through Sprint’s iPhone forever program. Coming Friday. iPhone 7 128GB for me, iPhone 7 plus 128 GB for the wife.
We ordered the Jet Black iPhone 7Plus 256 and an iPhone 7 (not sure of which one my wife git). Delivery was good, until we noticed that they ordered me 7 instead of plus. We had to call back to fix it… And were on the phone for over an hour (not on hold…. With a person). They had to cancel the entire order and re-order…. Now we are beginning of Nov. 🙁
