“There’s no doubt that the Apple Watch is an incredibly beautiful example of industrial design,” Jim Lynch writes for CIO. “Apple went out of its way to make it fashionable, and it really shows when you look at it. But how useful is the Apple Watch on a day to day basis? What can you actually do with it? It turns out that there’s quite a lot you can do with your Apple Watch.”

“Apple Watch owners are mostly finding it to be a very useful tool that frees them from constantly needing to check or hold their phones,” Lynch writes. “And my own experience bears that out since I’ve had an Apple Watch for almost a week now.”
“If you’re new to the Apple Watch or if you’re thinking about getting one, my advice is to give yourself some time to get used to it and integrate it into your daily life. As you use it regularly you will probably discover many useful things it can do for you,” Lynch writes. “Be patient, have fun and you’ll probably soon find that your Apple Watch is much more useful than you thought when you first got it.”

MacDailyNews Take: As we wrote earlier today:
The longer you wear Apple Watch, the more indispensable it gets.

only Apple haters don’t see that
Begone troll
Oops, wrong post…sorry
Don’t WANT to see that. 🙂
I’m as big an Apple fanboy as you can find but to me the watch is annoying and not needed. I sold mine.
Your nose is growing Pinocchio!
Yet another troll
As it turns out, Apple Watch is quite useful
As it turns out, silverdick is quite an asshole
Only to trolls young one, only to trolls.
It turns out Troll Alert has no dick!
perhaps Troll Alert is female. who cares? seems like he/she/it is correct about silver hawk being an a-hole however. silver hawk never posts anything that isn’t a personal attack, usually accusing others of being trolls just because he disagrees with their way of thinking. how immature. if one thinks another is wrong, it’s far more productive to demonstrate the reasons why you think you’re correct rather than spending your entire life demonstrating that you have no civility and your only reasoning ability is to label and threaten others. silver hawk is a pathetic excuse for a forum member.
Yes Trolls don’t exist to be enlightened or educated or engage in civil discourse, just merely to inflame the proceedings with repetitious, cliche, simplistic biased nonsense for sport. Funny when you corner trolls and then their sociopathic behavior really comes to the forefront. Then it’s pointless to engage.
Were you aware that the 4 little sensors were not dials and that the other (black) side was to be worn facing you?
Ah are you the guy who sold me that watch for $19.95 on ebay? Thanks for that, works great.
the poor troll.
he didn’t even reply
his prepared Samsung script didn’t have a reply for ‘Pinocchio’
or Reality checks “4 little sensors” jibe.
Begone troll
Its simply addicting !
Tomorrow is the 13th, the beginning of my Apple Watch delivery slot.
🙂 … Get ready for addiction
Addicted to Apple since 1989.
Lucky. Mine doesn’t start until May 29th – June 11th. My mistake was not immediately buying the Watch and then going back to buy the Mac Book. Who knew? (Oh, all of the rest of you did? D’Oh!)
It’s an amazing device. Had it 1 week, already feel weirdly disconnected when not wearing it.
I never believed the Fandroids when they would proclaim that Apple fanboys would buy anything with an Apple logo on it… I officially stand corrected!
They were certainly right. I can’t think of a product more insignificant and worthless than the Apple Watch, even if I tried hard everyday.
The watch should come with a shirt that says “I Am An Idiot” on the front, with Tim Cook and his execs laughing on the back.
I’ve read you complain a lot. Have you even seen one in person? Used it for five minutes? I bet not. As such, you are simply an uninformed fool, and your thoughts are not worth the electronic space they are consuming.
I could have plausibly accepted (with massive reservations) such a statement six months ago, when the watch was first announced and talked about.
Today, we have many respected and highly competent tech reviewers who have spent some time with the watch and are confidently claiming that the device is exceptional in every way. None of these reviewers are fanbois; they make their living by giving unbiased, impartial subjective assessment of a new piece of technology.
Your statement is therefore absurd. Apparently, all these people who tried the watch for some time found it significant and worthwhile. Since they are getting paid for their opinion, and yours seem to be backed up by exactly nothing, then it is clear what the value of such opinion is.
Another Pinocchio wasting his time.
Well, the shirt definitely applies to YOU and your opinion…
Funny, we have the very same impression about you. What a doofus troll. Especially the worthless part – that’s a keeper.
And you’re welcome to your opinion…, and that’s all it is, your opinion; However several other manufacturers don’t see it that way, to name a few… Pebble, Sony, Samsung Gear, Android Wear, LG, Tag Heuer, and the list continues to grow, so it seems, its you who suffers from lack of vision. OH yeah! and of all the above listed entrants, its the Apple Watch which has been cited as BEST IN CLASS.
Today I was watching Leo Laporte wearing ONLY an Watch. It’s been an interesting transition from wearing only his Motorola Moto 360, to wearing it on one wrist with the Watch on the other. Now the Moto 360 is gone and he’s chatting about what he can do with his Watch. More news at eleven!
In other news, today pigs were spotted flying over Pescadero.😜
I meant Petaluma.👀
Me no likey Leo Laporte no more regardless. Kind of dead to me.
leo laporte has zero credibility. dead to me too.
Hurray! I just got a notice that my Apple Watch Sport delivery date was moved up from May 20 – Jun 1 to May 14. Less than two more days!!!
Good for you, put in a good word for me please.
I put in a good word for you: sex! One of the best words I know.
Your Apple Watch can’t be far behind.
That is just awesome. Really happy for you.
Mine ships between May 21st and June 4th, so hopefully mine and silverhawks will get moved up too!
“It turns out that there’s quite a lot you can do with your Apple Watch.”
Wowwww! REALLY! Thanks for the surprising news!
Any deleterious medical implications to the wrist under constant exposure to radio frequency waves?
I believe this is why version 1 is not made to wear while sleeping. It is definitely a concern, look at the tear-down pictures and see how the antenna assembly is as far away from the body as it can possibly be. Future Watch models may not be any thinner because of this distance requirement.
If you’re minimising your exposure, leave the Watch in Airplane mode whenever you don’t need to be connected. It is also easy to turn the watch off if you really want to wear it to bed.
