Via email, Apple is offering Apple developers a special opportunity for expedited Apple Watch orders.
Apple wants Apple developers to be able to test their WatchKit apps on Apple Watch as soon as it is available. Apple is offering developers the chance to purchase one Apple Watch Sport (42mm Silver Aluminum Case with Blue Sport Band) that’s guaranteed to ship by April 28, 2015.
The opportunity is offered by random selection and quantities, as one might expect, are limited.
Developers are encouraged to register now through April 23 at 10am PDT. Apple will let let devs know their status on April 23rd.
Good luck, devs!
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Jeff R.” for the heads up.]
Now we know which model they over stocked for the rollout!
Apple wasn’t “over stocked” with anything on April 10th. 🙂 They (the units needed for this special program) are being produced right NOW, as part of the “manufacture to fulfill ACTUAL orders instead of to fill unsold inventory” strategy.
I like this… You know why? Because the fact that Apple can set aside a significant number of Apple Watch units for a special program like this means the Apple Watch production ramp is progressing smoothly. Apple can do this without affecting deliveries to all the existing “pre-order” customers.
That’s the exact model that I ordered. I guess they’re giving mine to the developers instead of shipping mine to me. Assholes! If mine doesn’t ship by Friday, I’ll just cancel the damn order and wait until the next model is announced.
you left off the /s at the end.
…because a few more days will destroy everything?
Troll boy thinks he strikes again. So sad.
What’s sad is that you can’t stand it when someone says something you don’t like. I will say what I damn well want. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it. Go away.
I don’t read it when a troll like you writes it, I do read what real Mac fans write however. I just don’t understand the need trolls have, that’s my bad I guess.
Get over yourself and mind your own business. I’ve been an Apple customer for almost 29 years, and I work as an Apple consultant. If I’m unhappy about something, I have a right to complain about it. So, unless someone has trimmed some fat off of the Constitution, I will say what I want when I want no matter who it offends. You must be really bored since you seem to want to focus in on every negative comment that I make. I’m a huge Apple fan, but I’m a realist. I see through the hype. If they are doing something wrong I will call them out on it. Call me a “troll” all you want, but it won’t change what I think and it won’t make me go away. Your harrassment of me is the real problem here. Leave me alone.
You don’t complain, you are a constant winner about things you know little of. Find some place else to whine. I know, today is Earth Day. Go complain on some clean water site how water should be polluted. That’s right up your alley.
Hey Developer. That’s my damned watch. Give it back!
There is a BIG value for everyone for developers to get a watch as soon as possible.
They’re still paying for it, it’s not free.
Absolutely, that will makes the apps even better.
I don’t know why someone (in China perhaps?) voted you down. You got 5 stars from me!
Oh. OK. They can have it. I’ll get mine in June. (i closed at 12:20)
