“During an interview to Re/code’s Kara Swisher on CNBC, The U.S. President, Barack Obama, reiterated his belief on Apple devices notably iPad’s and the upcoming iWatch that he is more than ready to give a try as a workout accessory,” Viraj Shah reports for Insider Monkey.
“‘I don’t have a fit bit yet, but I work hard. Word is that this Apple Watches might be a good companion for my workout so I am going to see I am going to test to that. I don’t want to give Tim Cook too big of a plug here until I have actually seen the product. But he tells me it is pretty good,’ said Mr. Obama,” Shah reports.
“Apple Watch is not the only gadget that is keeping Obama glued on Apple Inc. devices,” Shah reports. “‘When it comes to ball games am still usually watching on TV DVR but when it comes to highlights am usually watching them on an iPad… I use a BlackBerry mainly because I am so restricted in what I can do that it is basically just messaging, and it is still easier for me to tap. But, basically most of my none work related stuff I am working off the iPad,” said Mr. Obama.”

Citizens of the free and civilized world, this is hopeful news indeed. Consider this change of tone compared to one of the other recently used pompous headlines where the bareback one uses Apple as a weapon and a feeble attempt to intimidate a new nemesis (if you can keep track of them as the pop up).
The headline I’m talking about went “U.S. Will Easily Defeat Russia under Vladimir Putin Because Of Smarter Leadership and iPads – Barack Obama” and was covered by MDN (December 30). The chest beating foot stomping quote from the article was clear: “””They [the Russians] rely on oil. We rely on oil and iPads and movies and you name it,” the president stressed.”
At the time, I named it. I named that the U.S. would get crapped upon at the next up and coming encounter between the Russians and the U.S. and sure to form they had their asses handed to them on a platter by the Russians at the World Junior Hockey Championships. To add insult to injury the United States did not even get a medal. Fortunately there was a team from the free and civilized world that defeated both these wannabes and took the gold, showing to those who can see what happens to the side that has integrity and the moral high ground.
Now, the tune in changing, a government leader is accepting Apple Pay, iPads and even the unreleased Watch. There is hope that realizing the value of Apple goes beyond their products, that the process is just as important. I’ve heard of Apple coming up with some crazy ideas like transporters and time machines, but to nurture and steer a such a vile nation towards peace and integrity, that would be real science fiction.
I look forward to seeing more from Tim Cook.
