“Fresh data from ad network Chitika shows Apple’s iPad accounted for 79.9 percent of North American Web traffic for the month of September, up 1.9 points from measurements taken in July,” Mikey Campbell reports for AppleInsider.
“According to a fourth quarter update from Chitika’s research arm Chitika Insights, the iPad’s 79.9 percent marketshare is down from 81 percent year-over-year, but still sits far ahead of the closest competition, which happens to be Amazon’s Kindle Fire series at 6.7 percent,” Campbell reports. “Traffic generated by Amazon’s tablets held steady year-over-year.”

BUT how can this be true -IDC says Android Tablets outsell Apple Tablets by 5-1! It is MARKETSHARE…..
….or perhaps it is Android b.s. and marketing dollars.
It’s called shipped versus sold. 80% of those crap Android tablets that have been shipped are still rotting on shelves in stores or in warehouses.
Or, very likely, stuck in drawers and closets, not being used. Like the Kindle my wife got as a gift…
What about all those Surface’s being used by the NFL and CNN? Half a billion dollars just for advertising with the NFL, you’d think with all those eyeballs watching the game, the Surface would be beating everybody. I don’t get it. Unless, people really do care about quality and not price, or who’s being forced, err, I mean using what product.
On an airplane, one guy told me he had 3 android tablets that his wife ordered from QVC about a year ago, unopened. It was a bit sad, but not surprising. Meanwhile, my wife has been using one iPad almost daily for a couple years now. Not sure who spent more money on tablets, but one of us clearly got way more value.
That poor guy on the plane needs to get a different wife!
