Apple seeds OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks beta to developers with no major changes

“Apple on Thursday seeded a new beta build of the upcoming OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks maintenance update, with the latest version coming with minor bug fixes and minor tweaks,” AppleInsider reports.

“As with the previous OS X 10.9.3 betas, Apple is asking developers to focus on Graphics Drivers and Safari,” AppleInsider reports. “The new OS X 10.9.4 releases tack on extra areas of interest including Bluetooth, Audio Drivers, Finder and the App Store.”

    1. I jumped off the Mavericks track, onto Yosemite. But from 10.9.3 experience,

      – I’m glad Apple continues to focus on Safari. Version 7 still needs some tightening up of memory management. It’s great on a Mac with massive RAM. Not so great at 4 GB of RAM with lots of other stuff running. But Safari 7 is leaps better than crap Safari 6, which I still despise.

      – The Finder of course still needs updating. Apple thoroughly screwed it up in 10.7 and it’s taking time to clean up the mess. It can never be fast enough. It’s still flaky for LAN networking, which is inexcusable.

      – Bluetooth gets shaky when you’re doing heavy Wi-Fi networking. But I always hated Bluetooth. Hopefully Apple is improving Bluetooth’s access to resources so it doesn’t go all twitchy at times.

      – I’ve personally never run into audio or graphics driver problems on Mavericks.

As for Yosemite: One step forward, two steps back with Safari 8. [Mouth taped shut to prevent further comment]

      1. Oh yeah! I forgot the Apple Mac App Store App! Clunky junky, unworthy of Apple. Should have been overhauled before it was ever let loose on the public. What is wrong with Apple for letting this thing languish in what isn’t much better than alphaware status? That’s how much I hate it.

        START AGAIN!
