this Security Update just screwed up my Time Machine external hard drive where it will not recognize it…so beware.
it recognizes in Disk Utility but will not mount as Time Machine disk…just wonderful.
I had no such problem. My Time Machine works fine after update, as it did before.
You must have triggered the botvinnik flag in OS X.
Same problem; using Mountain Lion. Sorry I did it.

I normally always wait a couple of weeks for any kinks to get worked out. And, I always have an up to date SuperDuper backup besides my Time Machine version. Apple is awesome but they aren’t perfect.
