“Yesterday we reported on Apple commissioning the production of a mysterious fiber carbon product,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple. “We were the only source to point out that Apple was also working on ‘glass’ and/or ‘carbon’ fibers for products ranging from the iPhone to a notebook.”
“Today, Apple revealed information about a new notebook product entry that will have a laminate cover that would conceal a hidden camera and mini display on the backside of said notebook,” Purcher reports. “The display won’t be visible until it lights up when the user’s hand hovers over it. It’s simple a fascinating idea – more so because it could lead to an all-new product from Apple.”

would be great to see something new from apple after 2 years of product iterations that were nice but no one really is excited about.
It takes time to get all the elements together: new technology, specs, materials, design, supple chain, manufacturing, et al. Apple is experienced in getting the ‘ducks in row’ before putting a product on the market. Innovation takes time.
Stop talking SJ. The rules of engagement are so different today than even a year ago. Giants are fighting giants and innovation is coming from every which way. Apple does not hold a secret sauce nor does anyone else. The sauce needs tweaking all the time.
They sure are not coming from Samsung, who has to copy from Apple and call it innovation.
