iOS 6 App Store to deliver one-tap installation of free Apple apps

“A new page [on the the redesigned App Store for iOS 6] greets first-time [iOS 6] users to promote Apple’s own apps, providing an easy way for new users to quickly “get the most out of” their iOS device,” Mike Beasley reports for 9to5Mac.

“The promoted apps include only Apple’s free offerings, with no sign of paid apps such as the iLife or iWork suites,” Beasley reports. “A ‘Download Free’ button provides a one-tap installation of iBooks, iTunes U, Podcasts, Find My Friends, and Find My iPhone.”

  1. Works with App updates too, no need to enter your password.

I installed iOS 6 on my iPad last night and the big news here is the Clock App has been brought to the iPad! This is fantastic, at last I have an alarm clock on my iPad!!!!

    1. That is cool – I will be sending my parents in the UK an iPad once the iOS6 update arrives. I’ve loaded plenty of apps for them but it would be good if they could download free apps without needing a password.

BTW – aapl officially broke through $700 today. The 52 week range is 350-700 !! How about that for growth.
