Apple’s iPhone Duo wait times have fallen by about seven days week-over-week but remain elevated at roughly 89 days, according to UBS data released Friday.
UBS’s tracking, which monitors availability across more than 30 global markets, shows the modest improvement in lead times for the company’s first foldable iPhone. Despite the decline, waits of nearly three months underscore continued strong demand for the device, which launched in stores on October 23rd following preorders that opened on October 16th.
The bank noted that trends for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models are tracking similarly to prior launches. UBS said a smattering of display-related issues are unlikely to be the primary driver of the shorter Duo waits, pointing instead to supply dynamics amid robust consumer interest.
The iPhone Duo, Apple’s book-style foldable, starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model and opens to a 7.6-inch inner display from a 5.4-inch outer screen. It is powered by the same A20 Pro chip as the iPhone 18 Pro models and has seen exceptionally strong initial demand, with early delivery estimates stretching well into early 2027 in many markets.
UBS maintained its Neutral rating and $296 price target on Apple shares. The stock was trading lower on Friday, closing down $4.28 (-1.23%) at $344.63, after closing the prior session at a new all-time high of $348.91, amid a broader market backdrop that has seen the shares post solid gains for the year to date.
Analysts have closely monitored iPhone lead times as a proxy for demand following Apple’s recent product cycle, which includes the standard Pro lineup and the higher-priced Duo. Persistent elevated waits for the foldable model suggest the high starting price has not significantly deterred early buyers, even as the company expands availability to additional markets.
MacDailyNews Take: It’ll be quite some time before Apple can achieve a supply-demand balance for the iPhone Duo.
And, UBS’ Neutral rating and $296 price target on Apple shares is absolutely ridiculous! AAPL remains woefully undervalued.
