iPad 3 home buttons begin appearing in China, feature more design tweaks

Home Buttons purported to be for iPad 3 have begun to be spotted in China.

“The iPad 3 home button, which has been handled in both black and white flavors, looks almost identical to the iPad 2 home button. However, the gray glyph representing the frame of a home screen application icon is slightly thicker,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

From this “we do learn a few things,” Gurman reports. “The iPad 3 will likely come in both black and white – just like the iPad 2 – if these iPad 3 home buttons pan out to be the ones used in the final; The buttons floating around right now-in large quantities-signal that the iPad 3 is either in production or close to the production stage; The iPad 3 will not lose the home button (iOS devices have been rumored to soon be losing the home button).”

  1. The home button has become the canary in the cole mine. So goes the home button, so goes the product.

    There’s a reason why the first thing I read when I get up in the morning is “Home Button Daily” and the Chinese edition of “Home Button Times.”

  2. I like the home button. One button is exactly the right number. If they get rid of the home button, they’re going to have to come up with another way to exit a misbehaving application.

  3. This is what happens when communism collapses – Kremlin watchers now become Home button watchers, trying to infer important trends from the smallest of changes in the least significant of things.

    They just haven’t been made aware of the career opportunities in becoming North Korea watchers.
