Crowd celebrates Apple Store Ala Moana grand reopening

“Today, Apple had a Grand Reopening for the Ala Moana Apple Store,” T. F. Gregory reports for AAPLInvestors.

“This Apple Store opened on 17 May 2003 and was the first one in Hawai’i. It was Apple’s 57th store and had 4,600 square feet,” Gregory reports. “The store was closed from July 2011 for renovation to the new standard size which was achieved by taking over the space previously occupied by San Lorenzo’s Bikini’s. In addition to a traditional Hawaiian blessing, there were several hula dancers and singers performing.”

Gregory reports, “The store opened at 9:00am to a crowd of over 100 and is now about twice the size of the original store. The first 1,000 customers received a free grey Ala Moana t-shirt.”

    1. You are right about that. My choice for second position is Maui’s Willie K. Look up his version of O Holy Night on You Tube. You’ve never heard this carol, in English and Hawaiian, sung so beautifully.

    1. Store full and over 100 in line at 9:10. 1000 Free T-shirts gone by 10:00. Remodeled store about 2x as large as before. Wish I had taken a photo of the sullen looking store clerk across from Apple store wishing he had at least one customer. Only Apple and Lego stores are always busy.
Scored my t -shirt. Very understated in a stylish box. Might do a n unboxing just for fun.

We should visit Microsoft Stores and take pics of their staff or idiots from the idiot bar and build a gallery.
