Tim Cook invites Apple employees to celebration of Steve Jobs’ life on October 19

Apple CEO Tim Cook today sent the following email to Apple employees:

Team,

Like many of you, I have experienced the saddest days of my lifetime and shed many tears during the past week. But I’ve found some comfort in the extraordinary number of tributes and condolences from people all over the world who were touched by Steve and his genius. And I’ve found comfort in both telling and listening to stories about Steve.

Although many of our hearts are still heavy, we are planning a celebration of his life for Apple employees to take time to remember the incredible things Steve achieved in his life and the many ways he made our world a better place. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 10am in the outdoor amphitheater on the Infinite Loop campus. We’ll have more details on AppleWeb closer to the date, including arrangements for employees outside of Cupertino.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Tim

  1. Let’s see if the Rev Phelps can get inside 1 Infinite Loop to protest this celebration (of a man who served himself – instead of God) since they eventually weren’t able to protest his funeral… (Holding sign that says “God Hates Hate”)

    1. Oh, extremists! I HATE them. Steven P. Jobs gave more pleasure and useful things to emancipate occidental culture people from routine and boring life than these pesterers any time. God wants among his lines happy people from any culture and people aimed at enjoying life and celebrating it, not slaves of dogma who waste the miracle of being alive.

  2. CAN I GET A JOB AT APPLE, EVEN IF IT’S ONLY FOR ONE DAY??
THEY CAN FIRE ME ON OCTOBER 20TH… I THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE TO PAY ME FOR OCTOBER 19TH….
    CERRENSE….

    1. In my state, a patient can have a DNR, a Do Not Resuscitate order. When presented with it, medics CANNOT try to revive the patient. I would believe that Steve had filed the California equivalent.

Sometimes we all must yield to the inevitable.
