Should be excellent. Adam and Jamie….about the Steve…..
iCal’ed for a reminder to watch. Looking forward to it.
Miss you Steve,
You did good, very good.
soon you’ll be able to say- siri- remind me to watch myth busters on sunday.. 😀
They better be accurate and fair. Meaning not make that idiotic generalization of Apple/Jobs copying or stealing XEROX rudimentary experimental GUI.
Sounds great, but just one hour? I think a mini-series would do him justice.
Only one hour??
If ads are included in that hour…. What are these guys thinking?
I’ll be there watching.
Maybe discovery will let them take off the stickers covering the apple logos on all their macs…
Yeah I doubt it.
I will definitely DVR this one.
Thanks for the heads up MDN!
However, iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World is nowhere to be found on the UK Discovery Channel.
So, where’s Ballmer’s Left Nit these days? During the Keynote last week he came totally unglued at the horrible presentation, the horrible product launch of iPhone 4S(teve) and swore Apple was falling into the abys.
Amazing what a difference can happen within a single day or a week. BLN, where are you? You need to stand up and eat just a little humble pie.
Maybe Ballmer’s Right Nut needed him. But for what, I can’t imagine.
Hey, BLN. Time for the smegma snack.
I thought you might enjoy this limerick posted on Computerworld blog by O2Blrish:
“Jobs is gone,” people said with a sigh.
“He was such an intelligent guy.
He’s a man on a mission
A man with great vision,
The Apple of everyone’s i.”
Nice.
Rather see Ken Burns do it, but I guess it is history too recent for him. Just finished the documentary on Prohibition, and it was excellent.
Then again, Ken wouldn’t know what to do with all that video footage 🙂
I keep waiting for PBS to re-air Cringely’s “Triumph of the Nerds” from ’96 or so – y’know, the one that accurately and thoroughly chronicles phase one of Steve’s career (and more), and the one where all his choice quotes about Microsoft and all come from. I wouldn’t mind seeing “Pirates of Silicon Valley” again too.
Just recently rewatched ‘Triumph of the Nerds’… Cringely’s awesome but yeah, it could do with an ‘update’. “Microsoft’s domination of the industry is now complete”, “Apple is in serious trouble”, “Larry Ellison thinks we’ll ditch PCs for Information Appliances”… it’s funny what 14 years and a few bits of kit starting with “i” can achieve…
is this special going to be shown again, I MISSED IT!!!!!!!
Would someone please tell me where they filmed the iGenius narration? I think it’s a science or technology museum. They mention it in the first few sentences. Thanks.
