MG Seigler reports for TechCrunch, “Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz was apparently fired over the phone. Harsh.”
This is the note Bartz just sent out to Yahoo employees:
To all,
I am very sad to tell you that I’ve just been fired over the phone by Yahoo’s Chairman of the Board. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward.
Carol

MacDailyNews Take: Channelling Carol: “Well, isn’t that just a load of fsckin’ bullshit?”
Enjoy your golden parachute, Carol!

What is the point of Yahoo any more?
It’s not Google?
Um. I think they got Cuban on Entourange?
Morbid, that’s the point.
Yahoo! Sports! is good.
Golden parachutes, UGH!
Company I worked for has had 4 (5?) CEO’s in the last 7 years.
Company’s worth 12 million, yet each exiting Boss has left with between $4 and $6 Mil.
Oddly enough, they’ve all been somewhat “left of center”.
I call bullshit… No business is gonna give a CEO half the Co. on their way out the door. NIce try associating Democrats with greediness, ya douche.
They obviously meant the CEO’s were eccentric or incompetent. “Left of center” is just a saying, not a political reference. Still, good job calling someone mean names for no reason.
If you go left far enough, you end up right. Honestly, why do you spout this type of suspect BS with a political slant? I have no doubt at all that many died-in-the-wool conservative CEOs have exited with plenty o’ cash. Most of the upper management of publicly owned companies seem to be having fun with shareholder assets.
Start thinking for yourself.
This chick has a heck of a mouth on her:

She pecked that rooster Arrington bald.
I think I saw that video once.
She sure does.
I like this one from the school of hard knocks –
“I have a belief that life isn’t about balance, because balance is perfection … Rather, it’s about catching the ball before it hits the floor.”
Wasn’t MS going to pay like 25 billion for it?
I’m usually not a big fan of poetry but his is some lambic pentameter up with which I can surely put
name one good idea yahoo or product from yahoo.
get a website from yahoo with 30 email accounts for $10 a month or pay $20/month for email only with 10 accounts. yahoo is just in the way.
Yahoo bought eGroups, of which I run three. I’ve been admin of various eGroups since 1998. That is the soul reason I visit Yahoo.
A company can give an employee stock that has a decent market value but is, in all probability, carried the company’s books at one cent per share.
They should have sold to MS and run to the bank giggling.
Engineers are fleeing the company as quickly as possible, they are dying.
Bring back Jerry Young.
Pls don’t 🙂
When Carol was hired by Yahoo in early 2009 she was paid an annual base salary of $1 million. She was eligible for an annual 400% bonus and received 5,000,000 shares in addition to an equity grant of $18 million of stock (to compensate for the forfeiture of the value of equity grants and post-employment medical coverage from her previous employer).[17] In 2010 Bartz was named “most overpaid” CEO by proxy voting firm Glass-Lewis when she received $47.2 million in compensation.[18]
On September 6, 2011, Bartz was removed from her position at Yahoo! (via phone call), and CFO Tim Morse was named as Interim CEO of the company.
If she said “going forward” she deserves to be fired!
She killed off Yahoo! Search and made it powered by Bing! Good riddance ya hag, see you in the food stamp line after your $ runs out.
She was the Pres, CEO, and Chairman of Autodesk before coming to Yahoo. So basically, she is the b-wench the kept autocad off the Mac for so long. Good riddance to her, and may she never work in the industry again.
