Regarding photos of Steve Jobs: MacDailyNews is not going to be posting them, nor are we posting links to them, so please stop sending them.
We don’t need hits that badly. We feel sorry for outfits that think they do.
Such images are not “news,” they are tasteless, classless invasions of privacy.
We know this will be ignored by the types of outlets that run such photos, but we’ll say it anyway: Steve Jobs is no longer Apple’s CEO. Leave the man alone.
Total respect to MDN for showing class in this matter.
thank you MDN for taking this stand….
Glad to see this MDN
+1
Thank you MDN for your class.
well done MDN 🙂
Nice, always knew the class was there under the funny takes. Well done in taking a stand for the right thing.
You are correct MDN!
Bravo MDN!
The right move.
Well, all I know is, if they are referring to the photo that was posted earlier this afternoon on another (nameless) site, it doesn’t look good at all, and it makes me really sad.
Well, nothing especially sad comparing to what was already was months ago; Jobs was skeletal and only the clothes that actually make the difference. And it was said almost officially that he is mostly housebound, so he can not act very much.
So I agree that this tabloid junk is nothing but cheap and tasteless way to speculate on private matters. It has nothing to do with informing the society or shareholders with any actually new information.
I dunno, I found it particularly disturbing he needs someone to help him walk/stand.
I found it disturbing that they are fake.
What? You mean Steve doesn’t wear little black dresses all the time?
Who says their fake, besides people online who scream fake at any photo posted? I WISH they were fake, but the do not appear to be.
Steve Jobs didn’t look well when I saw him back in 2005.
These photos say to me his time is short indeed.
Class act!
Hopefully, others will follow.
Word.
I wish we knew how his health is. All indications point to a grim prognosis. I hope I’m wrong. I don’t want to see frail pics of Steve. He should be remembered for the strong, robust, enigmatic leader he was before cancer. No one wants to see their heroes deteriorate in front of their eyes. Give the man his privacy. He’s given us everything we could ever hope for! Now it’s our turn to give back.
Here. Here.
Bravo, MDN.
Very good show MDN!
MDN can take the high road on this if they want, but the fact remains that he is the Chairman of the Board of the very company that entire site is dedicated. When other board members resign, are kicked off (Eric T. Mole), or are voted off, it’s news. So if the Chairman appears to be deathly ill and has a history of being private about it (meaning we may not be getting all the details), its news that they should report. It can be done in a responsible way.
Privacy is still more important than anything you’ve conjured up with your mental gymnastics.
What SJ does is news, peeping tom photos over his fence don’t qualify. Enjoy your lonely Friday night with your calloused palm, scumbag.
Having seen the photo in question, it does not appear as thought this photo was taken discreetly.
Nor that the photo is of steve jobs.
Sorry, but, again, these photos shed absolutely no new light on Jobs’ condition and health status. It was said almost officially through major publication (Bloomberg) that Steven is mostly housebound, and he himself said that he can not continue to work actively. And Jobs no skinnier than he was in the last months (the clothes make the difference). Everyone who was fantasying about anything else regarding Jobs’ condition was lying to himself/herself. Because everything of it was documented before. No point to publish the photos which make no actual revelation and thus only made to earn money for tabloids.
Doing the right thing.

thank you for showing taste and class.
I imagine that I don’t particularly want to see the photo, but could someone, perhaps even MDN, actually post something to indicate what this is all about?
Well done, MDN:
But please DO NOT STOP posting the dorky pictures of Michael Dell and Steve Ballmer!!! 😀
MDN has done the right thing since it’s entirely possible the photos are fake to begin with and this outlet wouldn’t be above doing something like this.
You guys have totally done the right thing. I can’t believe I saw this story on CultofMac. I tried leaving a comment and citing your site as a classy example of how to deal with the man’s private health matters, by respecting his privacy and leaving him ALONE and of course, “the moderator has to approve the comment”. I’m sure those dip shit/hit whores will not approve my comment.
Good job MDN!
Did someone take down Cult of Mac’s site?. It keeps saying their backend server is down.
Good riddance.
i don’t think they’ve taken it down Jax. Maybe they did now… I don’t wanna go back to their site again.
